Spare your family difficult decisions. When a loved one dies, families are asked to make dozens of decisions in twenty-four hours, often without knowing what their loved one would have wanted. Pre-arrangement removes that burden entirely.
Lock in today's prices. Funeral costs in Centre County have risen on average 3.8% annually for the past two decades. A pre-arrangement signed today is guaranteed at today's price. The trust fund earns interest; you pay no more.
Ensure your wishes are honored. The Bible reading, the hymn, the cemetery, the casket, the obituary — every choice is yours, written down, signed, and held on file. Your family is freed to grieve rather than guess.
You meet personally with James or Andrew Albright in our parlor. There is no charge and no obligation. The conversation typically lasts ninety minutes.
Together we walk through every decision: service type, casket or urn, cemetery, music, readings, obituary, military honors. Your selections are written down and given to you to review at home.
If you wish to fund the arrangements, your payment is deposited into a Pennsylvania-regulated irrevocable trust at First National Bank of Bellefonte. The trust earns interest in your name.
Your signed pre-arrangement is filed in our vault and a copy is provided to you. If you move, the arrangement is fully portable to any funeral home in the United States.
Your pre-arrangement and the funds in trust are fully portable to any licensed funeral home in the United States. We will transfer your file and the trust balance at no charge to you.
That is precisely what pre-arrangement protects against. The price you sign for today is guaranteed for the services itemized. If costs rise, the difference is absorbed by us. If costs fall (which has not happened in our 138-year history), your family receives the difference back.
You may revise the arrangement at any time. The trust balance moves with the new plan.
The trust is governed by Pennsylvania Act 102 of 1996, held in an irrevocable trust at First National Bank of Bellefonte, audited annually by the Pennsylvania Department of Banking. The trust is bankruptcy-remote: even in the (impossible) event that Albright & Sons ceased to operate, your funds would remain protected and fully transferable.
The consultation itself is free. You may choose to fully fund, partially fund, or simply record your wishes without funding. There is no fee for the planning service regardless of which option you choose.
James or Andrew will receive you personally. There is no charge and no obligation. Bring your spouse, your adult children, or come alone — whatever feels right.
